Mr MacGregor's Garden Sweetcorn

The story of sweetcorn begins with preparing the soil ready to plant sweetcorn. Soil preparation begins by creating a seed bed using our specialist organic cultivators ready for planting. We take great care of our soil as without healthy soil we can't grow a healthy crop. 

We use a precision drill to plant the sweetcorn seeds at the correct spacings, sweetcorn doesn't like to be crowded! Using this specialist drill allows us to space the sweetcorn so the plant can find adequate light, water and nutrition.  

As the sweetcorn plant grows it's roots will expand into the soil growing down and out looking for nutrition to produce a healthy and tasty cob. We can help the plant by adding naturally occurring nutrients witch are organically approved.  

Harvesting will being roughly 100 days after planting once the cobs have reached maturity. We pick for taste and won't compromise by harvesting early or late when quality goes down. We harvest just at the right time ensuring you will always receive the tasty sweetcorn we can grow!
